Quick answer

For reliable Research Points, sell correct tickets and do maintenance yourself. After closing, mop, clean and repair everything you can. The mop awards Research Points for cleaning; the water gun cleans faster but does not award them.

What to do

During opening hours, prioritise tickets, safety events and urgent guest problems. When the gates close, walk the whole park in a fixed loop: collect research icons, remove rubbish, mop dirty areas, repair facilities and reset pools. A repeatable route wastes less time than chasing one isolated trick.

What the sources support

Multiple current sources agree that water-gun cleaning gives no Research Points while mopping does. Staff work can generate points, but community tests suggest a lower return than doing the task yourself; no official exact formula is available.

Version notes and limits

Claims such as chlorine always unlocking at Research Level 7 come from individual saves and are not universal rules.
