Quick answer

Unlocking a job is not the same as gaining a staff slot. Research the role you need and, if the hiring list is full, increase Hiring Level separately. Then compare applicants by the work your park is failing to keep up with.

What to do

Hire for the visible bottleneck: a cashier for ticket queues, a janitor for rubbish, maintenance for broken facilities, a vendor or restocker for sales, or a lifeguard and security worker for safety. Efficiency, Precision, Movement Speed, Endurance, Recovery Time and Pay all matter. Stagger breaks so one department does not vanish at once.

What the sources support

Current 1.0 material supports a bottleneck-first approach and lists multiple roles, including cashier, janitor, maintenance, vendor, restocker, lifeguard, security and entertainer. Older Early Access guides that prescribe one mandatory first hire conflict with the present system.

Version notes and limits

There is no verified universal salary table. A quoted daily wage from one Hard Mode save is only that save’s snapshot.
